For unto us a Child is born, Unto us a Son is given; And the government will be upon His shoulder. And His name will be called Wonderful, Counselor, Mighty God, Everlasting Father, Prince of Peace. Isaiah 9:6

If you are developing Christmas products or buying Christmas cards for your organziation, a Fox News poll reveals most Americans want "Merry Christmas" said at Christmas. The poll taken December 9-10 shows 77% of Americans prefer "Merry Christmas" as opposed to saying something with less meaning.

The poll found that larger numbers of Republicans (87%) say "Merry Christmas", but Christmas numbers were lower with Democrats at 72%.

"I feel better when someone greets me in a store with 'Merry Christmas' because Christmas is about the birth of our Savior Jesus", says Pastor Steve who leads Pray Daily America, a daily prayer for America ministry at www.PrayDailyAmerica.com.

Pastor Steve adds, "Without Jesus, people have no hope and are dead in sin. Jesus is God's only Begotten Son who laid down His life for us, so that if we believe on Jesus we are forgiven for our sin and accepted before God."

Many have stopped doing business with companies who are "scrooge-like" and only want to make money on the Christmas season but don't acknowledge Jesus Christ. Unfortunately, these companies like the Olive Garden offend the large majority of Americans as 80% of Americans say they are Christians. Another thing people are researching is if their politicians support Christmas as America wants. After all, what day does America and the world open presents on? Christmas! Let's have no more fake Christians in politics.

America's Christian founding shows American government supports public display of faith in Jesus Christ. For example, Delaware's Constitution of 1776 required government officials to declare publicly: "I do profess faith in God the Father, and in Jesus Christ His only Son, and in the Holy Ghost, one God, blessed for evermore; and I do acknowledge the holy scriptures of the Old and New Testament to be given by divine inspiration."

Also, President Ulysses S. Grant made Christmas a Federal holiday for America in 1870.

Maybe it is time we each make a resolution to say, "Merry Christmas" and see how many people smile back with the same reply. And because of Jesus' sacrifice for our sins, we always have hope, love and life. Merry Christmas!
