The European Court of
Human Rights ruled today that displaying crucifixes in Italian classrooms violates parents' rights to secular education for
their children. The Strasbourg court found that, "The compulsory display of a symbol of a given confession in premises
used by the public authorities ... restricted the right of parents to educate their children in conformity with their convictions."  "The presence of the crucifix ... could easily be interpreted by pupils of all ages as a religious sign and they would
feel that they were being educated in a school environment bearing the stamp of a given religion," the court said in
a statement, adding the presence of such symbols could be "disturbing for pupils who practiced other religions or were
atheists."
The seven judges ruling on the case added that crucifixes in the classroom also restricted the "right
of children to believe or not to believe," according to the statement quoted by AFP news agency. The case was brought
to the Human Rights Court by Soile Lautsi, a mother of two from Abano Terme, near Padua, on the grounds that her children
were being influenced by having to attend a school that had crucifixes in every room. [Our founders were political Christians
who endorsed and wanted God in government. They practiced the opposite of what some say is "separation of church and
state." ] Ruling [falsely as many believe] that this contradicted the separation of Church and state in Italy the
court awarded her 5,000 euros (7,400 dollars) in damages. The court did not, however, order the Italian authorities
to remove the crucifixes, and the Italian Government said that it would appeal to the European Court of Human Rights' Grand
Chamber, according to the ANSA news agency. The ruling has sparked an uproar throughout the country, with religious
leaders and politicians condemning the ruling using words such as "abhorrent," "offensive," "pagan,"
and "spineless." "This is an abhorrent ruling," said Rocco Buttiglione, a former culture minister. "It
must be rejected with firmness. Italy has its culture, its traditions and its history. Those who come among us must understand
and accept this culture and this history," he said. Mariastella Gelmini, the Minister for Education, said that
the ruling was "an offence against our traditions." "The presence of a crucifix in the classroom does
not signify adherence to Roman Catholicism, rather it is a symbol of our tradition," Gelmini told the ANSA news agency.
She pointed out that, "The history of Italy is marked by symbols and if we erase symbols we erase part of ourselves.
No one, and certainly not an ideological European court, will succeed in erasing our identity." "It is not
by eliminating the traditions of individual countries that a united Europe is built," Gelmini stated. Mario Baccini,
a senator in Prime Minister Silvio Berlusconi's government, said the European Court of Human Rights had "gone adrift
in paganism," while Pierferdinando Casini of the opposition Union of Christian Democrats party said the ruling showed
that the European Union's institutions were "spineless" in their failure to acknowledge the continent's Christian
roots.

Hate Crimes Quick Facts
- Hate crimes are against
free speech.
- Hate crime laws give protection to those who commit sexual offenses, including pedophiles
and those who commit rape, while they take away protection from victims of crimes.

demand that Obama, Pelosi, Reid, Clinton, Biden, Schwarzenegger (for related issues), Steele (for related issues)... be forced

crime against nature. Thomas Jefferson found homosexuals immoral and wanted to make very stiff laws forbidding homosexuality.
All 13 colonies were founded by moral people and had laws against homosexuality.
- Hate crime
laws are another example of an out-of-touch government with the people and God's ways
that should be removed immediately.
- These "laws" oppose God who
says homosexuality is sin. God calls the homosexual to turn from their ways and be blessed by Him with a good and normal life
instead. However, these laws could make reading and teaching the Bible illegal. The Bible is the best selling book of all time and the book our
founding fathers established the USA on. Abraham Lincoln said: "But for the Bible, we could not know right from wrong."
- Many have called the bill the "Pedophile Protection Act" because it has
been said to give federally protected status to 547 classes of sexual deviants, including child molesters, and
removes protection for the 98-99% straight people, violating the Constitution.
- All 50 states
have long existing laws which deal with violent crime. These "laws" are unnecessary
as there are plenty of laws already to protect people.
- Our founding fathers would not support these "laws" as they established a free country to serve our
Creator.
- Americans do not support taking away the rights of the 302 million straight
people in free speech.
- Obama is trying to approve and force homosexuality
AGAINST THE MAJORITY OF AMERICANS who have unanimously voted 31 times for marriage to be as God created - between a man and
woman. That is what the people of America want. But this bill would make it easier to pass legislation which will make stating
the majority of America's belief about a man and woman being a real marriage a "hate crime." - Hate crime laws could
make stating your belief about marriage, as people like Miss California have done, against the law. This appears to be
bullying that no one wants. Many people clearly believe Miss America was treated unfairly and discriminated upon. Look
at what is already happening without "Hate Crime Laws". We need laws to protect families now. Which Congressman
will do that? America is a free country.
- The following should be removed immediately for opposing freedom
of speech (the US Constitution) and American families: Obama, Pelosi, Reid, Biden, Clinton... and every Congressman voting
for hate crime laws.
